Our first informational meeting of the semester for new members will be Tuesday September 11 at 7pm in Machmer E33.
Prior experience is not necessary to be a part of our team. Many successful members of our team did not have any debate experience before joining us. On the other hand, for those of you who may have competed in debate in the past, we are excited to help you acquire some of the new skills needed for collegiate debate, as well as improve your existing debate skills.
Executive Board members will be at the Activities Expo, you are welcome to find us there to meet us and ask any questions you may have about the team. The Activities Expo is Friday September 7 from 3pm to 6pm at Haigis Mall. See you there!

NOTE: This is a special tournament for two reasons:
- It is a Pro-Ams Tournament. All teams at the tournament will have at least one novice debater.
- This is a Motions Tournament! This means that instead of side government bringing pre-written cases, each side is assigned a topic 15 minutes before the round. There are a few of tournaments of this style each year.

Fall 2017 Feedback Survey
As many of you already know, our team will be holding elections at the begining of next semester. All Officer positions will be voted on, although incumbants are of course allowed to run for their old seats.
If elected, you will be shaddow the current holder of the position over the course of the Spring ’18 semester. You will be expected to slowly take on more and more of your predesessors responsibilities. Then, you will serve in your officer position for the ’18/’19 school year.
Right now we are seeking nominees who to run for each positionWe highly encourage all our members to consider running for office. The team is run best when there are vigourous and competative elections. Below is a link to the nomination form, as well as a link that shows a spreadsheet of those who have already nominated themselves for office.
